IET announces launch of Inspec Analytics Plus to enhance analysis of collaboration and research impact
Published: Tue 29 Jun 2021

The IET (Institution of Engineering and Technology) has launched Inspec Analytics Plus, expanding the capability of the research intelligence tool Inspec Analytics to support citation and collaboration analysis.

The IET today announced the launch of Inspec Analytics Plus, a new addition to the Inspec suite of research solutions, which expands the existing capability of Inspec Analytics, the IET’s award-winning research intelligence tool.

Inspec Analytics Plus incorporates citation data and enhanced collaboration analysis at a very granular level to uncover deeper insights into the impact of research. This level of precision analytics allows users to further explore global research, and assess the value and impact of work, by augmenting Inspec Analytics with new data and functionality.

Vincent Cassidy, IET Head of Academic Markets, said: “As the role of scholarly research continues to evolve, we are continuously adapting and developing our research solutions to deliver innovative new tools that help researchers navigate the latest challenges, enabling them to deliver high-impact research efficiently.”

With the release of Inspec Analytics Plus, researchers can deepen their understanding of global scientific trends; define the scope of their research project to maximize impact; assess an organization’s impact; and evaluate the success of collaborative partnerships and knowledge transfer initiatives. Researchers can also more easily understand their place in the global engineering research landscape and make strategic decisions about the direction of their projects.

Building on Inspec’s 50-year legacy of providing users with high-quality content, Inspec Analytics and Inspec Analytics Plus use semantic data from the renowned IET Inspec database to connect each indexed element of literature, allowing research professionals to uncover trends and patterns that were previously locked away.
Intuitive interfaces and interactive views in these tools provide insights into high-level and niche disciplines by empowering users to explore research trends based on organizations, controlled terms or subject classifications.

Inspec Analytics will continue to be part of the standard Inspec subscription. The Inspec Analytics Plus expansion will be available as an add-on to new and existing Inspec subscriptions. Subscribers can access Inspec Analytics and Inspec Analytics Plus directly through the IET’s platform, and via a number of vendor partners including EBSCO Host, Engineering Village and Web of Science.
